Common questions
How do I add a place?
Tap + on any tab. Pick Countries, Cities or Airports, then find a place by browsing or searching. Add when you went, how you got there and a note if you like, then tap Mark visited.
Do I need to make an account?
No. Mapped makes an account for you the first time you open it, without an email address or password, so your passport is backed up and you can add friends.
How do I get my places back on a new iPhone?
Mapped keeps the key to your account in your iCloud Keychain. Sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Keychain turned on and install Mapped, and your places come back. If you signed in with Apple or Google, you can also sign in again from the Profile tab.
Who can see my places?
Only friends you've accepted. They see your name, username, photo, the countries you've marked and whether you lived there. They never see your dates, transport or notes, and Mapped doesn't share your cities and airports with anyone.
Why doesn't my country count include Greenland or Hong Kong?
Mapped counts the 195 UN member and observer states. You can still mark places like Greenland, Hong Kong or Scotland under their country, but they don't add to your country count. Here's why.
Does Mapped work offline?
Yes. Every country, city and airport is built into the app, so you can add places without a connection. Mapped syncs them to your account when you're back online.
How do I delete my account?
On the Profile tab, tap Delete account. This permanently removes your places and friendships from our servers. More about deleting your account.
