How to track every country you've visited
How to build a complete list of every country you've been to, record when and how you went, and keep it up to date.
Most people can't list every country they've been to from memory, or say when they went. Here's how to build the full list once and keep it up to date.
1. Start with the ones you remember
Begin with home and the trips you remember best. In Mapped, tap + and browse by continent, or search. Each country turns green on your globe as soon as you add it, so the gaps are easy to spot.
2. Find the ones you forgot
- Scroll through your photos year by year.
- Search your email for booking confirmations and boarding passes.
- Look at the stamps in old passports.
- Ask the people you travelled with.
3. Add the details while you remember them
For each place, you can add when you went, how you got there and a short note. Transport options include plane, train, car, bus and ferry. Places with dates appear in a timeline of your trips.
4. Add cities and airports
Mapped includes over 34,000 cities and 4,000 airports. Add the cities you stayed in and the airports you flew through, and they appear as dots on your map.
5. Keep it up to date
- Add places while you travel, so the list never falls behind.
- Put the widget on your Home Screen to see your count.
- Share your passport card after a big trip.
- Add friends to compare counts on the leaderboard.
